Our Xili HQ played host to delegation of German Transport and Logistics experts who were all keen to understand the furniture market and its implications for China/EU trade. The party was lead by Dorothee Bar, MP and included government officials as well as some high profile business leaders including Jeroen Eijsink, CEO DHL Germany.
Our reputation had been well explained to the group beforehand and they were keen to get our take on what the market was doing. A brief introduction from Oliver Hou was followed by a brilliant, tongue in cheek/self effacing promotional video from the Germans which was well received on our side of the table. There followed a Q&A during which we answered questions regarding the size of our industry, its plans for the future both within China and beyond and, importantly, what effect this would have in the transport and logistics arena.
The meeting concluded with planning our next steps, namely connecting German logistic companies with some of our members as well as an agreement to promote the delegations services via our media channels.
A successful afternoon all round.
